%X The mapping of environmental fragility is an important tool to indicate areas with bigger or smaller potential uses assisting in the territorial environmental planning. Thereby the objective of the study is map the areas of environmental fragility of Agudo municipality, Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil, helping in planning and territorial organization of the municipality. The processing and analysis of data were carried out with SPRING software 5.2.7 version, with the generation of the potential fragility map and emerging fragility map. The first map was built using the physical maps of declivity, soils and geology, and to construct the second map was added to the use and land cover map for the year 2014. Each map was weighted in amounts varying between 1 (smaller fragility) and 5 (larger fragility), followed by calculating the arithmetic mean of the same, both steps performed using the LEGAL analysis programming. The results demonstrated that environmentally fragility more representative potential in the study area is the called average fragility covering 22789.62 ha, corresponding to 42.55% of the total area of study. However, areas with very high fragility cover 7.03% of the total area. The emerging environmental fragility is also composed largely by the average fragility occupying 56.05% of the municipality (30016.98 ha), while areas with very high emerging fragility cover 964.62 ha (1.80% of the study area). The study concludes that the study area has at its greatest extent, fragility average to very high fragility; this indicates the need for environmental planning this municipality.
